Meet Batik Boy

Born and raised in Makassar, Indonesia, Davey Massikki aka Batik Boy spend his teenage years in The Netherlands. Here, he immersed himself in the diverse and thriving music scene, inspiring him to explore the limitless possibilities of music. After moving back to Indonesia, he decided to establish Batik Boy Radio, a unique platform that serves as a reflection of his broad musical palette.

Footprints in Sound

Batik Boy sees music as a universal language that transcends borders and brings people together. His sets reflect a global sound — blending Afrobeat, Amapiano, 3 Step, Baile Funk, Latin Rhythms, and more — always with soul.

He has opened for Major League Djz, DBN Gogo, 2woBunnies, KMAT, TxC, Yussef Dayes, Joe Kay (Soulection), Rosey Gold, S!RENE, Anaïs B, Tame Impala, Craig David, Jason Derulo, DJ Maseo (De La Soul), and more.

From his residency at Disko Afrika at Savaya, to showcases at Suara Festival, Iron Fairies, and Morabito Bali, to festivals in Portugal and the Netherlands, Batik Boy has built a reputation for unforgettable sets that bridge cultures and communities. Whether in intimate clubs across Indonesia or on iconic stages, his infectious energy and passion for music continue to push the boundaries of sound.

Batik Boy Radio

Batik Boy Radio is a music platform where culture, authenticity, and community connect.

What started as a DIY setup in the kitchen has grown into a space for deep listening, raw expression, and sonic storytelling. From hidden gems to fresh neo-soul to worldwide underground sounds — Batik Boy Radio guides listeners through the endless sea of music. Each session is a journey through sound.

Rooted in Indonesian heritage and global influences, it offers a platform to artists and selectors who bring more than just tracks — they bring mood, message, and meaning. Whether it’s a DJ with a story to tell or a space that feels right for the sound — BBR is always looking for meaningful connections.

Batik Boy Ruko

Batik Boy is opening his first lifestyle store in Cemagi, Bali. More than a shop, the ruko will be home to Batik Boy Radio, exclusive merchandise, batik fabrics, and more. A space where music, culture, and community come together — offline as much as online.
